The Internet brings us closer 2 a positive because it eliminates the natural tendency most people have to judge a person by their looks. When on the web, you have no idea what the person U R communicating with looks like, and U can form strong bonds with a person U may have shunned on the street. I think the Internet can help bring people from different cultures and backgrounds together because it gives them an even playing field. With positive web sites produced by, and viewed by, positive people, we can finally start making the inevitable transition into...

How can the internet and a web-SIGHT bring us all closer 2 real positive
change?
It allows for people to get to know each other without the physical. There
are no barriers on the net that automatically go up when you see a person
face to face. People also tend to be more relaxed on the web more so than
in person.

I think that the internet and a web-SIGHT can help a lot 2 get us all closer 2 real positive change. Sights promoting positive things that are available world wide 4 people 2 get involved in may reach the people who live in computers and not in the real world. We have all sorts of things distracting us from real life from computers 2 TV showing all the glitter and glamour of a fake world. If we use their distractions 2 get 2 them and get them involved in helping this sad world out then maybe the internet can b used 4 something good. The only problem is getting people 2 say, "Yes, I am willing to help this world out." Motivating words have more impact then we think. But once they are involved in helping out, they will feel a lot better about themselves. I always feel better when I know that I've done something thats helped someone or the world out.

The only way that the net and the web-sights included in it can bring people 2gether for a positive change is by furnishing ideas for those who want to bring about a positive change. Yet it is up to the person to take action and realize that change is accomplished by doing.

That's a difficult question. A websight cannot bring about change by merely existing. The internet is of no use if we don't take information and ideas supplied therein and apply them to our lives. Change is brought about when we see our reflection in the words and ideas expressed on said site...which then helps us understand the role we play in change and allows us to SEE within ourselves what we need to change there in order to bring about real change in the world.
The internet works in much the same way as a song, poem, book, artwork, speech, or any other collection of words and ideas...it is there merely for us to use like a pair of glasses...helping magnify things we already know. It's how we choose to use the Site to assist us in our IN-SIGHT that is the true world changer not the existance of the site on its own.

It can if we follow through in real life with the positive things that
come from the internet. However, real life is the key here.
Positivity can transcend all boundaries.

by strengthening positive feelings and being positive in general
most people are on the internet when they are alone
and it is when people get together that belief systems and cultural/racial differences are enforced in human interaction. Deep down everyone knows that negation is wrong, and disturbing etc, but because of fear everyone "plays their parts" so to speak in public, mainly acting as mindless puppets. It's what happens when people are alone at home that is important - they cry and feel the pain they usually block away from other people, and they also feel joy in themselves and their home-oriented actions, be it music, art, whatever.
Being on one end of a computer screen eliminates the onter-personal "social" aspect of interaction, deleting the "politness" and "self-presevatory safter" genes, so to speak, so people are not the entity they believe they appear to be, but closer to what they actually are.
In summary, its easier to speak truth through a medium, (music, literature, art, telephone, computer etc)
Kinda like a tone-box :)
sorry for being so long-winded, but it's an excellent question, and i felt I should give my honest opinion
take care to all

A web-Sight & the internet can bring us together by removing several
barriers which are evident in everyday living.
The internet removes pre-conditioned biases and sterotypes that we
unconsiously put on people. There is no color, face or nationality when we
read a webpage or chat to someone on the net, just words that are used to
express one's thoughts.
It is a beautiful way to realize that we are One.
